- 2 medium apples, peeled and diced small
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 package refrigerated crescent rolls or pie dough
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Powdered sugar or caramel sauce for serving (optional)
- 1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 2. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, cornstarch, and butter.
- 3. Cook 4–6 minutes until apples soften and mixture thickens; let cool slightly.
- 4. Unroll crescent dough (or pie dough) and cut into small squares.
- 5. Place a spoonful of apple filling in the center of each square.
- 6. Fold and pinch edges to seal, forming bite-size pockets.
- 7. Brush tops with egg wash.
- 8. Bake 12–15 minutes until golden brown.
- 9. Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with caramel before serving.
