Apple Pie Egg Rolls

Crispy golden egg rolls filled with gooey cinnamon-apple pie filling the perfect handheld dessert that’s crunchy outside and warm, spiced inside.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups diced apples (about 2 medium)
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water
  • 8 egg roll wrappers
  • Oil for frying (or spray for air frying)
  • Powdered sugar or caramel sauce for serving

Instructions

  • 1. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat and add diced apples.
  • 2. Stir in brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cook until apples begin to soften, about 5 minutes.
  • 3. Add cornstarch slurry and cook until thickened. Let filling cool slightly.
  • 4. Lay out an egg roll wrapper, add about 2 tablespoons of apple mixture in the center.
  • 5. Fold sides in, roll tightly, and seal the edge with water.
  • 6. Fry in hot oil (350°F / 175°C) for 2–3 minutes per side until golden, or air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 6–8 minutes.
  • 7. Drain on paper towels and dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with caramel before serving.

Notes

  • Use your favorite apples Honeycrisp, Gala, or Granny Smith work great.
  • These can be made ahead and frozen before frying.
  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra treat!
