Applebee’s Chicken Wonton Tacos

Delicious and crispy wonton tacos filled with flavorful chicken and topped with fresh coleslaw.

Ingredients

  • 2 chicken breasts, finely diced
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp minced fresh ginger
  • 1 (397g) bag coleslaw
  • 4 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 16 Wonton wrappers
  • Sweet chili sauce, to serve
  • Chopped cilantro, to serve
  • Sesame seeds, to serve

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the wonton wrappers with cooking spray or oil and drape them over a baking dish.
  3. Bake the wonton shells for 7-8 minutes, then pull apart and bake for another 7-8 minutes until crispy.
  4. Prepare the chicken mixture by combining chicken, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger.
  5. Cook the chicken mixture in a skillet over high heat for 7-8 minutes until golden and cooked through.
  6. Prepare the coleslaw by mixing coleslaw mix, green onions, sesame oil, rice vinegar, soy sauce, and honey.
  7. Assemble the tacos with chicken, coleslaw, sweet chili sauce, cilantro, and sesame seeds.
  8. Serve warm with additional sweet chili sauce on the side.
