Avocado, Mozzarella, and Tomato Grilled Cheese

A delightful twist on a classic grilled cheese sandwich with creamy avocado, melty mozzarella, and fresh tomato, all grilled to perfection.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread
  • 1 ripe avocado, sliced
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • Butter or olive oil for grilling
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the skillet over medium heat.
  2. Prepare your bread by spreading butter or olive oil on one side of each slice.
  3. Start cooking by placing one slice of bread, buttered-side down, into the skillet.
  4. Layer your ingredients starting with avocado on the slice in the skillet.
  5. Add sliced tomato on top of the mozzarella.
  6. Season your layers with salt and pepper.
  7. Top with the second slice of bread, buttered-side up.
  8. Grill until the bottom side is golden brown, about 3-5 minutes.
  9. Flip the sandwich carefully and cook the other side until golden and cheese has melted, about another 3-5 minutes.
  10. Serve warm, sliced in half.

Notes

Enjoy with a side of salad or soup. Best eaten fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
