Baked Apples with Feta, Honey, and Cranberries

Warm baked apples topped with tangy feta, sweet honey, and tart cranberries. A simple yet elegant dish that works as a holiday side, appetizer, or light dessert with a perfect balance of sweet and savory.

  • 4 medium apples (Honeycrisp or Gala recommended), halved and cored
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 3 tbsp honey, plus more for drizzling
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
  • Fresh thyme or rosemary for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • 1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • 2. Place apple halves cut-side up in a baking dish.
  • 3. Brush apples with olive oil or melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon and salt.
  • 4. Bake for 25–30 minutes, until apples are tender but not mushy.
  • 5. Remove from oven and sprinkle baked apples with dried cranberries and feta cheese.
  • 6. Return to oven for 5 minutes, just until feta softens.
  • 7. Drizzle generously with honey.
  • 8. Top with nuts and fresh herbs if using.
  • 9. Serve warm.
