Banana Bread Brownies

Deliciously moist brownies made with ripe bananas and rich cocoa powder, blending the best of banana bread and brownies.

  • 3 medium Ripe Bananas
  • 1/2 cup Melted Butter
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Cocoa Powder
  • 1/4 cup Milk
  • 1 cup Chocolate Chips (optional)
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons Butter (for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Mash the 3 ripe bananas in a large mixing bowl until smooth.
  3. Add the melted butter to the mashed bananas and mix until combined.
  4. Mix in the granulated sugar and brown sugar until the sugars start to dissolve.
  5. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  6. Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon, then gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  7. Stir in the milk until the batter is smooth.
  8. If using, add chocolate chips and mix.
  9. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  10. Optional: Melt 2 tablespoons of butter and drizzle it on top.
  11. Bake for 25-30 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
  12. Let cool for 10 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

Enjoy these brownies warm or at room temperature. They pair well with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
