Banana Bread Cinnamon Rolls

A delightful blend of banana bread and cinnamon rolls, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • Cream cheese frosting (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Mash the ripe bananas in a small bowl until smooth. Set aside.
  2. Pour warm milk into a separate bowl, add sugar, and sprinkle yeast on top. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  3. Combine melted butter, mashed bananas, and egg in a large mixing bowl. Mix until well combined.
  4. Stir the yeast mixture into the banana mixture until fully combined.
  5. Add flour and salt gradually, mix until dough forms.
  6. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  7. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm area for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  8. Punch down the risen dough, roll it out into a large rectangle.
  9. Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon evenly over the dough.
  10. Roll the dough tightly and cut into 12 equal-sized rolls.
  11. Let the sliced rolls rise in a greased baking dish for another 30 minutes.
  12. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  13. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes and top with cream cheese frosting.
  14. Serve warm, and enjoy!

Notes

Use overripe bananas for the best flavor. Allow adequate time for dough to rise.
