  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Buttercream frosting
  • Decorative toppings (e.g., sprinkles, fruit, edible flowers)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare mini cake pans by greasing and flouring them.
  3. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
  7. Mix the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture, alternating with milk.
  8. Fill the pans with batter, leaving space for rising.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes, checking doneness with a toothpick.
  10. Cool the cakes in pans for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  11. Frost with buttercream and decorate as desired.
  12. Assemble the cakes in bento boxes for a lovely presentation.
