  • 2 lbs breakfast sausage,
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour,
  • 4 cups whole milk,
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper,
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder,
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder,
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme,
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika,
  • Salt to taste,
  • 3 packages (16.3 oz each) refrigerated biscuit dough,
  • 2 tablespoons butter for greasing

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter. Cut biscuits into quarters.
  • Cook sausage in large skillet over medium-high heat, breaking into small pieces, until browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes.
  • Sprinkle flour over sausage and stir constantly for 2 minutes. Gradually whisk in milk, stirring continuously until thickened, 5-7 minutes.
  • Add black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, paprika, and salt to taste. Stir until well combined.
  • Layer quartered biscuits in prepared baking dish. Pour hot sausage gravy evenly over biscuits.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until biscuits are golden brown and gravy is bubbling. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
