Blueberry Vanilla Jam

A delightful homemade jam that combines fresh blueberries with fragrant vanilla for a tasty spread.

  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 vanilla bean (split and scraped)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients: Start by washing the blueberries thoroughly under cold water.
  2. Combine ingredients: In a medium pot, add the blueberries, granulated sugar, lemon juice, balsamic vinegar, and the split and scraped vanilla bean.
  3. Heat the mixture: Place the pot over medium heat and stir the ingredients together.
  4. Mash the blueberries: When the mixture begins to bubble, use a potato masher to gently mash the blueberries.
  5. Cook until thickened: Continue cooking the mixture for 20 to 30 minutes, stirring frequently.
  6. Cool and store: Remove the pot from the heat and let the jam cool before pouring into sterilized jars.
