  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans, toasted
  • Optional: extra pecans or sea salt for topping

Instructions

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper.
  • 2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat and cook until it turns golden and nutty in aroma. Let cool slightly.
  • 3. Whisk in brown sugar, maple syrup, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
  • 4. Add flour, baking powder, and salt, stirring until just combined.
  • 5. Fold in toasted pecans.
  • 6. Pour batter into the pan and smooth the top.
  • 7. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden and set in the center.
