Buffalo Chicken Stuffed Soft Pretzels

Soft, chewy pretzels stuffed with spicy buffalo chicken and gooey cheese the ultimate game day or party snack everyone will love!

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water (110°F / 43°C)
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 1/3 cup buffalo sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup sliced green onions
  • 10 cups water
  • 2/3 cup baking soda
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Coarse salt, for topping

Instructions

  • 1. In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast; let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  • 2. In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, and melted butter. Add yeast mixture and knead until a smooth dough forms.
  • 3. Cover and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • 4. In another bowl, mix shredded chicken, buffalo sauce, cream cheese, cheddar, and green onions.
  • 5. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • 6. Divide dough into 8 pieces. Roll each into a rope, flatten, and spoon filling down the center.
  • 7. Fold edges over filling and pinch to seal, then twist into a pretzel shape.
  • 8. Boil water and baking soda in a large pot. Gently dip each pretzel for 20 seconds, then remove and place on baking sheet.
  • 9. Brush with egg wash, sprinkle with coarse salt, and bake 12–15 minutes until golden brown.
  • 10. Serve warm with ranch or extra buffalo sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • You can prepare the filling ahead and refrigerate up to 2 days.
  • Add more buffalo sauce for extra heat.
  • Freeze baked pretzels for up to 2 months and reheat in the oven.
