Cheesy Lasagna

A comforting, hearty, and cheesy Italian lasagna perfect for family gatherings and cozy nights in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • ½ tablespoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon cracked black pepper
  • 1 large yellow onion, diced
  • 2 jars Fresh to Market Pasta Sauce
  • 2 boxes no-boil lasagna
  • 1 pound mozzarella, grated
  • 15 ounces ricotta
  • 7.25 ounces roasted red bell peppers, julienned
  • 1 tablespoon chopped Italian parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Brown the ground beef in a large sauté pan over medium heat. Season it with kosher salt and cracked black pepper. Cook until browned and no longer pink, about 5 to 7 minutes.
  3. Add the diced yellow onion to the pan. Continue cooking for another 5 minutes, until the onions are soft and translucent.
  4. Mix in the Pasta Sauce and bring to a boil, stirring frequently. Reduce heat to low and let simmer for 15 minutes.
  5. Layer the lasagna: In a baking dish, start with a layer of meat sauce, then a layer of no-boil lasagna sheets, followed by another layer of meat sauce, roasted red peppers, mozzarella cheese, and dollops of ricotta cheese. Repeat layers two more times.
  6. Finish with pasta sauce and a top layer of mozzarella cheese.
  7. Bake covered with foil for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Garnish with chopped Italian parsley before serving.

Notes

Let the lasagna sit for 10-15 minutes after baking for easier slicing. Customize your cheese choices or add vegetables for extra nutrition.
