Cherry Pie Inspired Iced Tea

A refreshing iced tea that captures the delightful flavors of cherry pie, perfect for warm weather gatherings.

  • 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted and halved
  • 4 cups water
  • 4 tea bags (black or green tea)
  • 1/2 cup sugar (or to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Boil the water: Start by bringing 4 cups of water to a boil in a medium-sized saucepan.
  2. Steep the tea: After removing the saucepan from the heat, add the 4 tea bags. Let them steep for about 5 minutes.
  3. Prepare the cherry mixture: Wash the cherries thoroughly, pit and halve them, then mash them gently in a bowl. Mix in the sugar and lemon juice.
  4. Strain the tea: Use a fine mesh strainer to pour the brewed tea into a pitcher, removing the tea bags.
  5. Combine tea and cherry mixture: Stir the cherry mixture into the cooled tea and mix well.
  6. Chill the iced tea: Place the pitcher in the refrigerator and let it chill for at least 2 hours.
  7. Serve over ice: Fill a glass with ice cubes and pour the chilled tea over the ice. Garnish with mint leaves.

Notes

Use fresh cherries for the best flavor. Adjust sweetness to your liking and experiment with different teas.
