Chicken Potstickers

Deliciously savory chicken potstickers, or pan-fried dumplings, are a delightful treat perfect as a snack or main meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 lb circular dumpling wrapper
  • 2 cups napa cabbage (chopped)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 green onions (sliced)
  • 6 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 2-inch ginger (minced)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp chicken bouillon
  • 1 tsp white pepper
  • Dumpling dipping sauce
  • Green onions (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Napa Cabbage: Add the chopped napa cabbage and salt to a bowl. Toss together and let sit for about 10 minutes. Rinse off the salt, squeeze out excess moisture, and keep the cabbage damp.
  2. Make the Filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, drained napa cabbage, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, chicken bouillon, and white pepper. Mix until combined, tasting and adjusting seasoning as needed.
  3. Fold the Dumplings: Wet the edges of a circular dumpling wrapper. Place a tablespoon of filling in the center, fold in half, and create pleats to seal. Pinch the top to ensure it is closed completely.
  4. Cook the Potstickers: In a non-stick pan, drizzle oil over medium heat. Arrange dumplings in the pan and cook for about 2 minutes until golden brown. Add water to cover the bottom, cover, and steam for 5 minutes, then let evaporate.
  5. Serve the hot chicken potstickers with dumpling dipping sauce and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

Purchase pre-made dumpling wrappers for convenience. Experiment with different filling variations using ground pork, shrimp, or tofu.
