  • 1 lb flank steak (thinly sliced against the grain)
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (divided)
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1-inch piece ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 green onions, sliced (optional garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (optional garnish)

Instructions

  • 1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, beef broth, sesame oil, sugar, and cornstarch. Set aside.
  • 2. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  • 3. Add sliced beef and sear until browned but not fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
  • 4. Add remaining oil, then sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant.
  • 5. Add broccoli florets and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until bright green and slightly tender.
  • 6. Return beef to the pan, pour in sauce, and toss everything together.
  • 7. Cook for 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens and beef is cooked through.
  • 8. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
  • 9. Serve hot over steamed rice.

  • Slice beef thinly against the grain for tenderness.
  • Blanch broccoli for 1 minute before stir-frying if you prefer softer texture.
