  • 3 very ripe bananas,
  •     1/3 cup melted butter,
  •     1/2 cup brown sugar,
  •     1 egg,
  •     1 tsp vanilla extract,
  •     1 cup all-purpose flour,
  •     1/2 cup cocoa powder,
  •     1 tsp baking soda,
  •     Pinch of salt,
  •     1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a loaf pan. Mash bananas and mix with melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt. Fold dry ingredients into wet. Stir in chocolate chips if using.
  • Pour batter into pan and bake 50–60 minutes. Cool before slicing.
