  • Chocolate Cupcakes:
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • Strawberry Buttercream:
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup strawberry puree
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
  • 2. In a large bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt, and sugars.
  • 3. Add oil, eggs, milk, hot water, and vanilla; mix until smooth.
  • 4. Divide batter evenly among liners.
  • 5. Bake for 18–20 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • 6. Cool cupcakes completely.
  • 7. For the buttercream, beat butter until creamy.
  • 8. Gradually add powdered sugar, then mix in strawberry puree and vanilla until fluffy.
  • 9. Pipe or spread frosting onto cooled cupcakes.

Notes

  • Use fresh or frozen strawberries for the puree.
  • Chill frosting briefly if too soft.
  • Garnish with a fresh strawberry slice or chocolate shavings if desired.
