Chocolate Lava Cake

An indulgent dessert with a gooey chocolate center, perfect for special occasions or satisfying chocolate cravings.

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease four ramekins with butter and place them on a baking sheet.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and chocolate chips together in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, egg yolks, sugar, and vanilla until combined.
  4. Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture and stir to combine.
  5. Gently fold in the flour and salt until just combined.
  6. Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins.
  7. Bake for about 12-14 minutes until the edges are firm but the center is soft.
  8. Let them cool for 1 minute, then invert onto plates. Serve immediately.

Notes

Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream. Cover leftovers and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
