Christmas Crack: Saltine Toffee Candy

A sweet, salty, and completely addictive holiday treat made with buttery toffee, melted chocolate, and crunchy crackers. Christmas Crack is easy to make and perfect for gifting or parties.

Ingredients

  • 1 sleeve saltine crackers (about 40 crackers)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
  • Holiday sprinkles or flaky sea salt (optional)

Instructions

  • 1. Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil and parchment paper.
  • 2. Arrange saltine crackers in a single layer covering the pan.
  • 3. In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat.
  • 4. Bring mixture to a boil and cook for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • 5. Pour hot toffee evenly over the crackers.
  • 6. Bake for 5 minutes until bubbly.
  • 7. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the top.
  • 8. Let sit 2–3 minutes, then spread melted chocolate evenly.
  • 9. Sprinkle with nuts, sprinkles, or sea salt if using.
  • 10. Cool completely, then break into pieces.

Notes

  • Use graham crackers for a slightly sweeter version.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
  • Freeze for longer storage and extra crunch.
