- 1 1/2 cups warm water (110°F)
- 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 tsp)
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 10 cups water
- 2/3 cup baking soda
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted (for coating)
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1. In a large bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar; let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- 2. Add flour, salt, and melted butter; mix until dough forms.
- 3. Knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth, then let rise 1 hour until doubled.
- 4. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment.
- 5. Bring 10 cups of water and baking soda to a boil in a large pot.
- 6. Divide dough into 8 pieces, roll each into a rope, and shape into pretzels.
- 7. Boil each pretzel for 30 seconds, then place on baking sheet.
- 8. Bake 10–12 minutes or until golden brown.
- 9. Brush warm pretzels with melted butter and toss in cinnamon sugar mixture.
