Cookies and Cream Cupcakes

Delightful cupcakes combining rich chocolate flavor with crunchy Oreo cookies, perfect for any occasion.

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup crushed Oreo cookies
  • 1 cup butter for frosting
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup melted chocolate (for ganache)
  • Mini Oreo cookies (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add butter, eggs, vanilla, and milk to the dry ingredients and beat until smooth.
  4. Stir in the crushed Oreo cookies.
  5. Fill cupcake liners about 2/3 full with batter and bake for 18-20 minutes.
  6. For the frosting, beat butter until creamy, adding in powdered sugar and heavy cream until desired consistency is achieved.
  7. Pipe Oreo buttercream frosting on cooled cupcakes.
  8. Drizzle melted chocolate ganache over the frosted cupcakes and top with a mini Oreo cookie.

Notes

Make sure your butter is softened to room temperature for the best frosting consistency. Use a cookie scoop for uniform cupcake sizes.
