Creamy Avocado Pasta Recipe

A fresh and creamy avocado pasta made with ripe avocados, garlic, lemon, and olive oil tossed with hot pasta for a silky, dairy-free sauce. Quick, healthy, and perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz pasta (spaghetti, linguine, or fettuccine)
  • 2 ripe avocados, peeled and pitted
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil or parsley
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup pasta water (as needed)
  • Grated Parmesan or nutritional yeast for serving (optional)

Instructions

  • 1. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain.
  • 2. While pasta cooks, add avocados, garlic, basil, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes to a food processor.
  • 3. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  • 4. Add avocado sauce to hot pasta and toss to coat.
  • 5. Add reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.
  • 6. Taste and adjust seasoning.
  • 7. Serve immediately topped with Parmesan or nutritional yeast if desired.

Notes

  • Serve immediately to prevent avocado from browning.
  • Add cherry tomatoes or grilled chicken for extra flavor.
  • Use whole wheat or gluten-free pasta if preferred.
