Delicious crispy chicken taquitos filled with flavorful shredded chicken, cheese, and spices, rolled into tortillas and baked or fried until golden and crunchy. Perfect for snacks, appetizers, or casual dinners.

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 12 small flour or corn tortillas
  • Cooking oil for frying or non-stick spray for baking

Instructions

  • 1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) if baking.
  • 2. In a bowl, combine shredded chicken, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, green onions, cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • 3. Warm tortillas slightly to make them pliable.
  • 4. Place a spoonful of filling near one edge, roll tightly, and secure with a toothpick if needed.
  • 5. To bake: arrange taquitos seam-side down on a baking sheet, spray with non-stick spray, and bake for 15-20 minutes until crispy.
  • 6. To fry: heat oil in a skillet and fry taquitos until golden and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • 7. Remove toothpicks before serving.

Notes

  • Use rotisserie chicken for convenience.
  • Serve with salsa, guacamole, or sour cream.
  • For extra crispiness, brush taquitos with oil before baking.
  • Freeze uncooked taquitos for easy future meals.
