Crock Pot French Dip Sandwiches: The Ultimate Set-It-and-Forget-It Comfort Meal

Tender, slow-cooked beef chuck roast with rich au jus for dipping, served on crusty rolls

Ingredients

  • 34 lb chuck roast,
  • 1 packet onion soup mix,
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix,
  • 1 packet Italian dressing mix,
  • 4 cups beef broth,
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce,
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce,
  • 1 large onion, sliced,
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced,
  • 8 hoagie rolls,
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Pat chuck roast dry and season with salt and pepper. Optional: sear in hot skillet 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Place sliced onions and minced garlic in bottom of slow cooker.
  • Place seasoned chuck roast on top of aromatics in slow cooker.
  • Mix beef broth, soup mixes, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce in bowl.
  • Pour liquid mixture over meat in slow cooker.
  • Cover and cook on LOW 8 hours or HIGH 4-5 hours until meat shreds easily.
  • Remove meat and shred with two forks. Return to au jus briefly.
  • Serve on toasted hoagie rolls with au jus for dipping.
