Soft, thick Crumbl-style Christmas sugar cookies topped with smooth pink almond frosting. These festive cookies are buttery, tender, and perfect for holiday baking, cookie exchanges, or gifting.

  • Cookies:
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract
  • Frosting:
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 tbsp heavy cream or milk
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract
  • Pink food coloring (optional)
  • Holiday sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • 2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • 3. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • 4. Beat in egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract.
  • 5. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until just combined.
  • 6. Scoop dough into large balls, flatten slightly, and place on baking sheet.
  • 7. Bake for 9–11 minutes until edges are set but centers are soft.
  • 8. Cool cookies completely.
  • 9. For frosting, beat butter until smooth, then add powdered sugar, cream, almond extract, and food coloring.
  • 10. Frost cooled cookies and top with sprinkles if desired.

Notes

  • Do not overbake cookies should stay pale and soft.
  • Chill dough for 20 minutes if spreading too much.
  • Store frosted cookies in the fridge for best freshness.
