Duchess Potatoes

Duchess Potatoes are elegant, piped mashed potatoes baked to golden perfection. Rich with butter, cream, and egg yolks, they make a perfect side dish for special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional)

Instructions

  • 1. Boil potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  • 2. Drain and mash until smooth.
  • 3. Mix in butter, heavy cream, egg yolks, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  • 4. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • 5. Transfer mashed potatoes to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip.
  • 6. Pipe onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • 7. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

  • Use Russet or Yukon Gold potatoes for best texture.
  • Avoid lumps for smooth piping.
