2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
1 tsp sugar
3/4 cup warm water
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp plain yogurt
2 tbsp olive oil
Garlic Butter:
3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley or cilantro
Instructions
1. In a small bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
2. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt.
3. Add yeast mixture, yogurt, and olive oil. Mix until a soft dough forms.
4. Knead dough for 5–7 minutes until smooth.
5. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
6. Divide dough into 6 equal pieces and roll each into an oval shape.
7. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
8. Cook naan 1–2 minutes per side until bubbles form and golden spots appear.
9. Mix melted butter and garlic, then brush over hot naan.
10. Sprinkle with parsley or cilantro and serve warm.
Notes
No yeast version can be made using baking powder instead.
Store leftovers wrapped at room temperature for 1 day or refrigerate up to 3 days.
