Easy Potsticker Soup

A quick and flavorful soup made with frozen potstickers, veggies, and a savory broth the perfect cozy weeknight meal.

Ingredients

  • 8 frozen potstickers (pork, chicken, or vegetable)
  • 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1 cup baby spinach
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: chili oil, sesame seeds, cilantro

Instructions

  • 1. In a large pot, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add garlic and ginger; sauté for 30 seconds.
  • 2. Add sliced mushrooms and carrots, and cook until softened, about 3–4 minutes.
  • 3. Pour in the chicken broth and soy sauce; bring to a simmer.
  • 4. Add the frozen potstickers directly into the simmering broth.
  • 5. Cook uncovered for 6–8 minutes, or until the potstickers are heated through and tender.
  • 6. Stir in the spinach and green onions; cook for another 1–2 minutes until wilted.
  • 7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • 8. Serve hot with a drizzle of chili oil and sprinkle of sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

  • You can use any frozen dumplings or gyoza chicken, pork, shrimp, or veggie.
  • Add a spoonful of miso paste for extra umami flavor.
  • Leftovers store well and can be reheated gently on the stovetop.
