Light, airy, and beautifully fragrant, these Fluffy Rose Water Pancakes bring a touch of elegance to breakfast. Each bite is soft and floral, topped perfectly with honey or pistachios for a Middle Eastern-inspired treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp melted butter or oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp rose water (adjust to taste)
  • Butter or oil for cooking
  • Optional toppings: honey, crushed pistachios, dried rose petals, whipped cream

Instructions

  • 1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • 2. In another bowl, mix milk, egg, melted butter, vanilla, and rose water until well combined.
  • 3. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined — small lumps are fine.
  • 4. Let the batter rest for 5–10 minutes for extra fluffiness.
  • 5. Heat a non-stick pan or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease with butter or oil.
  • 6. Pour about 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake and cook until bubbles form on top, then flip and cook until golden.
  • 7. Stack pancakes, drizzle with honey, and top with pistachios or rose petals for a fragrant finish.

Notes

  • Start with 1/2 teaspoon of rose water if you prefer a milder flavor.
  • For a richer version, substitute milk with buttermilk.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge and reheat gently in a toaster or microwave.
