Fried Heart-Shaped Potato Bites

Crispy, golden fried heart-shaped potatoes that are tender inside and perfectly seasoned a fun and charming side dish or appetizer ideal for Valentine’s Day or any special occasion.

  • 3 large russet potatoes
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • 1. Peel potatoes and slice into 1/4-inch thick rounds.
  • 2. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut potatoes into heart shapes.
  • 3. Place potatoes in cold water for 15 minutes to remove excess starch; drain and pat dry.
  • 4. Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  • 5. Fry potatoes in batches for 3–4 minutes until golden and crispy.
  • 6. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  • 7. Season immediately with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • 8. Garnish with parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, double-fry the potatoes for 1–2 minutes.
  • Serve with ketchup, aioli, or cheese sauce.
  • Can be baked or air-fried as a lighter option.
