- For the Earl Grey soak:
- 2 cups strong brewed Earl Grey tea (cooled)
- 1/4 cup coffee liqueur (optional)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- For the mascarpone cream:
- 8 oz mascarpone cheese
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- For assembly:
- 40–50 ladyfingers (savoiardi)
- Unsweetened cocoa powder for dusting
- 1. Brew strong Earl Grey tea, stir in sugar and coffee liqueur. Cool completely.
- 2. In large bowl, beat heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla to stiff peaks. Fold in mascarpone gently.
- 3. Quickly dip ladyfingers in Earl Grey mixture (2-3 seconds each side). Layer half in 9×13-inch dish.
- 4. Spread half mascarpone cream over ladyfingers. Repeat layers.
- 5. Cover and chill at least 6 hours or overnight.
- 6. Dust generously with cocoa powder before serving.
