Homemade Mini Corndogs

Easy and delightful Mini Corndogs made with cocktail weenies, real cheese, and a crunchy cornmeal batter. Perfect for parties or movie nights!

  • 1 package cocktail weenies
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, cubed
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oil in a deep fryer or large pot over medium heat to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Stuff each cocktail weenie with a piece of cheddar cheese.
  3. Mix the cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar in a large bowl.
  4. Prepare the batter by whisking milk and egg, then combine with the dry ingredients until smooth.
  5. Dip each stuffed weenie into the batter, ensuring it’s fully coated.
  6. Fry the corndogs in hot oil for 3 to 5 minutes until golden brown, flipping halfway through.
  7. Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  8. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

For best results, use high-quality cheese and weenies. Make sure your oil is hot enough to prevent greasy corndogs.
