Homemade Mounds Bar Recipe

Homemade Mounds Bars made with a sweet, chewy coconut center dipped in smooth dark chocolate. Simple, no-bake, and irresistibly delicious!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups shredded sweetened coconut
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 cups dark chocolate chips (or melting chocolate)
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil (optional)

Instructions

  • 1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • 2. In a bowl, mix shredded coconut, condensed milk, vanilla, and salt until thick and sticky.
  • 3. Form the mixture into small bars or rectangles and place on the tray.
  • 4. Freeze for 20–25 minutes, until firm.
  • 5. Melt chocolate and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler.
  • 6. Dip each chilled coconut bar into the melted chocolate, letting excess drip off.
  • 7. Place back on the parchment-lined tray and refrigerate until the chocolate sets.
  • 8. Store in the fridge or freezer.

Notes

  • Add an almond on top before dipping to make Almond Joy–style bars.
  • Use high-quality dark chocolate for the best flavor.
  • Bars freeze well for up to 3 months.
