- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup buttermilk (for marinating)
- 1 cup flour (for dredging)
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil, for frying
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1–2 tsp hot sauce (adjust to spice level)
- Butter, melted (for brushing biscuits)
- 1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly. Add buttermilk and mix until a dough forms.
- 2. Turn dough onto a floured surface, fold gently, and cut into biscuit rounds. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 12–15 minutes until golden. Brush with melted butter.
- 3. Meanwhile, slice chicken breasts in half horizontally. Marinate in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
- 4. Combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne, salt, and pepper in a shallow bowl. Dredge chicken in flour mixture.
- 5. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and fry chicken 3–4 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
- 6. In a small saucepan, warm honey and hot sauce together to make the glaze.
- 7. Assemble biscuits: Split each biscuit, layer with fried chicken, and drizzle with hot honey before serving.
Notes
- You can use store-bought biscuits for a quicker version.
- Adjust the hot honey’s heat by adding more or less hot sauce.
- For an extra crunch, double-dip the chicken in buttermilk and flour.
