Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup buttermilk (for marinating)
  • 1 cup flour (for dredging)
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil, for frying
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 12 tsp hot sauce (adjust to spice level)
  • Butter, melted (for brushing biscuits)

Instructions

  • 1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly. Add buttermilk and mix until a dough forms.
  • 2. Turn dough onto a floured surface, fold gently, and cut into biscuit rounds. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 12–15 minutes until golden. Brush with melted butter.
  • 3. Meanwhile, slice chicken breasts in half horizontally. Marinate in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
  • 4. Combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne, salt, and pepper in a shallow bowl. Dredge chicken in flour mixture.
  • 5. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and fry chicken 3–4 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
  • 6. In a small saucepan, warm honey and hot sauce together to make the glaze.
  • 7. Assemble biscuits: Split each biscuit, layer with fried chicken, and drizzle with hot honey before serving.

Notes

  • You can use store-bought biscuits for a quicker version.
  • Adjust the hot honey’s heat by adding more or less hot sauce.
  • For an extra crunch, double-dip the chicken in buttermilk and flour.
