- Ricotta Layer:
- 2 lbs ricotta cheese
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract

- 1 box instant chocolate pudding mix (3.9 oz)
- 1 cup cold milk
- 1 tub whipped topping
- 1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- 2. Prepare chocolate cake batter according to package directions and pour into prepared dish.
- 3. In a bowl, beat ricotta cheese, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
- 4. Carefully spoon ricotta mixture evenly over cake batter.
- 5. Bake for 55–60 minutes until center is set.
- 6. Cool cake completely.
- 7. Prepare pudding by whisking pudding mix with cold milk until thick.
- 8. Fold whipped topping into pudding until smooth.
- 9. Spread pudding mixture over cooled cake.
- 10. Refrigerate at least 2 hours before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Cake layers reverse during baking this is normal.
- Best served chilled for clean slices.
- Garnish with chocolate shavings if desired.
