Kielbasa Potato Soup

Hearty and comforting Kielbasa Potato Soup featuring smoky sausage, tender potatoes, carrots, and celery in a creamy broth. Perfect for cold weather and family dinners.

  • 1 lb kielbasa sausage, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 3 carrots, sliced
  • 2 celery stalks, sliced
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream or half & half
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • 1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Brown kielbasa slices, remove and set aside.
  • 2. In the same pot, sauté onion, garlic, carrots, and celery until softened.
  • 3. Add potatoes, chicken broth, and thyme. Bring to a boil, then simmer 20 minutes until potatoes are tender.
  • 4. Add browned kielbasa back to pot. Stir in heavy cream and simmer 5 more minutes.
  • 5. Season with salt and pepper. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use smoked kielbasa for best flavor.
  • Blend part of soup for creamier texture.
  • Can be made in slow cooker.
  • Freezes well for meal prep.
