King’s Hawaiian Cheesecake Danish

Delicious pastry made from King’s Hawaiian rolls filled with a smooth and creamy cheesecake mixture, perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert.

  • 1 package King’s Hawaiian rolls
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup fruit preserves (e.g., strawberry or raspberry)
  • 1 egg wash (1 egg beaten with 1 tbsp water)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the cream cheese mixture by blending softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, sour cream, and one egg until smooth.
  3. Slice the King’s Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Fill the halved rolls with the cheesecake mixture.
  5. Add about a teaspoon of fruit preserves on top of the cheesecake layer.
  6. Complete the Danish by putting the tops back on each filled roll.
  7. Brush the tops with the prepared egg wash.
  8. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. Best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container.
