Korean Ground Beef Bowl Recipe

A quick and flavorful Korean-inspired ground beef bowl with a savory-sweet sauce, served over rice with fresh vegetables. Perfect for a weeknight dinner.

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Cooked rice, for serving
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish
  • Optional: steamed vegetables (carrots, broccoli, or snap peas)

Instructions

  • 1. Heat sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • 2. Add garlic and ginger, sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • 3. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart.
  • 4. Stir in soy sauce, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes; cook 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens slightly.
  • 5. Serve over cooked rice and top with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
  • 6. Add steamed vegetables on the side if desired.

  • Adjust sweetness or spiciness to taste.
  • Use ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
  • Leftovers store well in the fridge for 2–3 days.
