Korean-Style Ground Turkey Recipe

A fast and flavorful Korean-style ground turkey dish cooked in a sweet, savory, and slightly spicy sauce. Perfect for rice bowls, lettuce wraps, or meal prep dinners.

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar or honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 12 tsp gochujang (optional for heat)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • Sesame seeds for garnish
  • Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions

  • 1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • 2. Add ground turkey and cook, breaking apart with a spatula, until no longer pink.
  • 3. Stir in garlic and ginger and cook 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  • 4. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, gochujang, and black pepper.
  • 5. Pour sauce over turkey and stir to coat.
  • 6. Simmer 3–5 minutes to thicken slightly.
  • 7. Stir in green onions and remove from heat.
  • 8. Serve over rice and garnish with sesame seeds.

Notes

  • Swap gochujang for sriracha if needed.
  • Add veggies like shredded carrots, zucchini, or baby spinach.
  • Serve in lettuce cups for a low-carb option.
