- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper

- 3 cups mashed potatoes (prepared)
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×5 loaf pan.
- 2. In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, garlic, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
- 3. Mix gently until just combined, then press mixture evenly into prepared loaf pan.
- 4. Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes, until meatloaf is cooked through.
- 5. Spread mashed potatoes evenly over the top of the baked meatloaf.
- 6. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese and dot with butter.
- 7. Return to oven and bake for 10–15 minutes, until cheese is melted and lightly golden.
- 8. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
