- 12 oz elbow macaroni
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Green food coloring (optional for ‘monster’ look)
- Candy eyes or sliced olives for decoration
- 1. Cook pasta according to package directions; drain and set aside.
- 2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
- 3. Gradually whisk in milk and heavy cream until smooth.
- 4. Add cheddar, mozzarella, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir until melted.
- 5. Add a few drops of green food coloring and mix well.
- 6. Combine cheese sauce with pasta and pour into a baking dish.
- 7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes until bubbly.
- 8. Top with candy eyes or olive slices before serving for a fun monster effect.
