- 1 1/2 cups warm water (about 110°F)
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 tbsp butter, melted (for brushing)
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
- 1 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
- 1. In a large bowl or stand mixer, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- 2. Add flour, softened butter, and salt. Knead until smooth and elastic, about 8-10 minutes.
- 3. Cover dough and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
- 4. Divide dough into 16 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a 6-7 inch breadstick.
- 5. Place on parchment-lined baking sheet, 1-2 inches apart. Cover and let rise 30 minutes.
- 6. Preheat oven to 400°F. Brush breadsticks with melted butter.
- 7. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden and cooked through.
- 8. Brush hot breadsticks with remaining butter and sprinkle garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and Parmesan cheese.
