One-Pan Cheeseburger Pie Dinner

A convenient and delicious one-pan meal that captures the flavors of a classic cheeseburger in a pie.

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes (optional)
  • Pickles for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Cook the ground beef and chopped onion in a skillet over medium heat until browned, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  3. Whisk together milk, eggs, flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  4. Spread the cooked beef and onion mixture evenly in a greased pie dish. Optionally, sprinkle diced tomatoes on top.
  5. Pour the batter over the beef mixture and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool for a few minutes before slicing and serve with pickles, if desired.
