Overnight French Toast Casserole

A delightful casserole combining traditional French toast flavors, perfect for busy mornings or special occasions. Prepare it in advance and bake for a warm, comforting meal.

  • 1 loaf of bread, cubed
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup raspberries, fresh or frozen
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Butter for greasing
  • Powdered sugar for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Grease the baking dish with butter to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare the loaf of bread by cutting it into 1-inch cubes and placing it in the baking dish.
  3. Whisk the eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon together until well combined.
  4. Coat the bread with the egg mixture, ensuring all pieces are soaked.
  5. Add the raspberries and cream cheese evenly on top of the soaked bread.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and refrigerate overnight.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Bake the casserole for 45-50 minutes until golden and set.
  9. Cool for a few minutes, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Use day-old bread for better texture. Feel free to customize with different fruits or spices.
