  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 tsp almond extract (optional)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Butter a 9-inch baking dish.
  • 2. Arrange sliced pears evenly in the dish.
  • 3. In a bowl, whisk eggs and sugar until pale.
  • 4. Add flour, salt, vanilla, almond extract, milk, and cream. Whisk until smooth.
  • 5. Pour batter over pears.
  • 6. Bake 35–40 minutes until puffed and golden.
  • 7. Cool slightly, dust with powdered sugar, and serve warm.
