Philly Cheesesteak Bowls

A delicious twist on the classic Philly cheesesteak, these bowls feature tender beef, melted cheese, and sautéed vegetables served over rice or quinoa.

  • 1 pound beef (sirloin or ribeye), thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • Cooked rice or quinoa (for serving)
  • Optional toppings: sliced jalapenos, mayonnaise, or hot sauce

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Cook the sliced onion and green bell pepper in the skillet for about 5-7 minutes until softened.
  3. Add the thinly sliced beef to the skillet and push the vegetables to one side.
  4. Season the beef with salt and pepper and cook for about 4-6 minutes until browned.
  5. Combine the beef with the vegetables and lay the provolone cheese on top.
  6. Cover the skillet and let it sit for 2-3 minutes until the cheese melts.
  7. Serve the cheese and beef mixture over cooked rice or quinoa with optional toppings.

Notes

Feel free to customize with different vegetables or cheeses. Batch cooking rice or quinoa can save time during meal prep.
