Roasted Broccoli with Garlic and Parmesan Recipe

Perfectly roasted broccoli tossed with olive oil, garlic, and finished with nutty Parmesan cheese. Crispy edges, tender centers, and big flavor an easy, healthy side dish.

  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp lemon zest or lemon juice (optional)

Instructions

  • 1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • 2. Add broccoli florets to the baking sheet.
  • 3. Drizzle with olive oil, add garlic, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Toss to coat evenly.
  • 4. Spread broccoli in a single layer.
  • 5. Roast for 18–22 minutes, flipping once, until tender with crispy edges.
  • 6. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle with Parmesan.
  • 7. Add lemon zest or a squeeze of lemon juice if desired.
  • 8. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Cut broccoli into similar-sized florets for even roasting.
  • For extra crispiness, avoid overcrowding the pan.
  • Try Pecorino Romano for a sharper cheese flavor.
