Rolled French Toast

A delightful twist on classic French toast, this rolled version is both fun to eat and easy to make. Perfect for breakfast or brunch!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 slices of crustless bread
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons of milk
  • 1 tablespoon of heavy cream
  • 1 knob of butter
  • 1 teaspoon of liquid vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 100 grams of sugar

Instructions

  1. Prepare the bread by flattening each slice on a clean surface with a rolling pin.
  2. Roll each flattened slice tightly from one end to the other and place on a plate.
  3. Make the egg mixture by whisking together egg, milk, heavy cream, and vanilla in a bowl.
  4. Coat each roll in the egg mixture, allowing excess to drip off before placing them on a plate.
  5. Cook the rolls in a skillet over medium heat with melted butter until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  6. Prepare cinnamon sugar by mixing sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  7. Coat the cooked rolls in the cinnamon sugar mixture immediately after cooking.
  8. Serve warm with your favorite toppings like syrup or whipped cream.

Notes

For a creative twist, try adding fillings such as jam, cream cheese, or Nutella before rolling the bread.
