Sausage Balls

Savory, cheesy sausage balls made with breakfast sausage, cheddar, and biscuit mix a classic crowd-pleasing appetizer or breakfast bite.

  • 1 lb ground breakfast sausage
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups biscuit mix (like Bisquick)
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp milk (optional, for softer texture)

Instructions

  • 1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • 2. In a large bowl, mix sausage, cheese, biscuit mix, and seasonings until well combined.
  • 3. Add milk if the mixture feels too dry.
  • 4. Roll mixture into 1-inch balls and place on prepared baking sheet.
  • 5. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.
  • 6. Serve warm with dipping sauce such as honey mustard or ranch.

Notes

  • You can use hot or maple sausage for a flavor twist.
  • For extra cheesy sausage balls, add 1/2 cup more cheddar.
  • Freeze uncooked sausage balls for up to 2 months bake straight from frozen, adding 5 extra minutes.
